A guide in the Sierra since 1978, and in Yosemite since 1984, Doug was the former chief guide for the Yosemite Mountaineering School. Doug continues to guide the Big Walls of Yosemite including El Capitan and Half Dome, in addition to the many multi-pitch routes throughout Yosemite. As an avid ice climber Doug frequents destinations like Canada, Cody, Colorado, and even Yosemite. In January 2007 Doug and partners successfully climbed the Widows Tears in Yosemite, one of the biggest ice climbs in North America. He has guided in Mexico, Ecuador, and the Alps. Doug is also a member of the AMGA Instructor Pool.
