As the receipiant of the AMGA 2009 "Guide of the Year Award", Alain has been working as an instructor and guide since the early 70's, climbing from New Zealand to Africa, and extensively in the European Alps. He previously guided for the International Mountain Climbing School, Eastern Mountain Climbing School and he also founded the Mountain Guides Alliance.
Alain is an instructor and examiner for the American Mountain Guides Association (A.M.G.A.),
Director and Team Leader for the Mountain Rescue Service and also develops and runs regular training programs for DOD Military Special Operation Teams.
