Swiss born and raised, Markus grew up in shadow of the Swiss Alps where he soon took to adventures and developed an innate love for the mountains. Fluent in six languages and a Masters Degree from the University of Bern in Switzerland in physical education, he eventually made his passion for the mountains his profession by becoming an IFMGA certified, full-time mountain guide.
